Our Community Emergency Response Team needs you!

Our team of volunteers constantly trains to better serve the community. CERT serves VeronaWalk in time of disaster, and in emergency situations. We are trained in triage, first aid, search and rescue and more. This team, made up of your neighbors makes a difference. We’re ready to serve the community when the professionals cannot reach you. After a hurricane, or natural disaster 911 as you know it may not function for up to 72 hours. CERT will be there to help when the professionals cant. Join our team, serve your community and help make a difference.

CAPTAINS MESSAGE

All team members please check your email and reply no later then March 12th. Our next meeting will be a training session held at the Emergency Management Center on March 27th. Radio operation & procedures, search & rescue and S.T.A.R.T will be the topics covered. All team members are requested to attend.

FEB 25 MONTHLY CERT MEETING

Town Center was a busy night so our AGENDA was focused on new members, and a recruiting drive. The team also discussed future training events that will be conducted in our community, as well as our involvement in an upcoming County drill.

The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 25 at 7:00 PM.

FIRST MEETING OF THE YEAR

January 21st marked the date of the VeronaWalk CERT Team's first meeting of 2010. The focus of the meeting was to set goals for future meetings and training. This team is made up of volunteers who live in the community who have made a commitment to be there in the event of an emergency. The pictures reflect our volunteers studying a pamphlet, as well as water proof flash lights that could be a help during a critical time.

CAPTAIN'S MESSAGE

Our next team meeting will be on January 21 at 7:00 P.M. in our Town Center.

All team members, and anyone interested in joining our team is urged to attend. We’ll discuss and prepare for the upcoming countywide CERT drill. We will also talk about some of the new things headed our way. It’s going to be an interesting, exciting year with new training and new projects about to begin. I look forward to seeing everyone on January 21^st.
