LET ME HAVE A TURN WITH THAT BIG HOSE !!!
Deep down some of the class probably thought they would get a chance to drive a fire truck or at least get out on the "hook and ladder" to put down a fire. Not exactly.
The Class did get instruction on how to identify types of fires and then how to approach them. It was stressed that students, even after graduation, never act alone. Our Safety is the primary concern.
Eventually we got our hands on the extinguishers and hit that big fire hard. We made a lot of smoke by aiming low and going from side to side. This was just the beginning.
After the fire extinguisher exercise we got instruction on use of the hose. This one was big. It definitely wasn't a garden hose. Some of us almost got launched into the sky from the thrust of water coming out. This is absolutely a team event.
