It has been a lot of fun producing this blog. We enjoyed working with our fellow residents over the last few years, as well as the members of our CERT Team. We, however,  are no longer able to produce the photo-essay portion of this Blog. Please enjoy our complete history here by viewing the previous posts. Also enjoy some of our favorites below.

ATTENTION MEMBERS - JANUARY MEETING CANCELED

The January 23, 2014 meeting has been canceled!

The next meeting will be held on February 13, at 7:00 PM in our Town Center. 

There will also be a meeting on February 20, at 7:00 PM. Both are important meetings. They will help prepare our team for the February 22, 2014 County Drill. 

Please make an effort to attend both meetings.

NEXT MEETING JAN 23, 2014

On December 12, 2013 the VeronaWalk CERT team and their families celebrated the holiday season at our communities restaurant, Cafe Verona. Everyone had a wonderful time, and a fantastic meal.

Our next team meeting will be held on January 23, 2014 in our Town Center at 7:00 P.M. At that meeting the February 22nd drill will be discussed. All team members are urged to attend the meeting, and the drill.

TEAM MEETING - NOV. 21, 2013

 

 At the November 21, 2013 VeronaWalk CERT meeting equipment and 2 way radios were issued to two new team members.

We conducted a radio check for all team members. A radio was found with corroded batteries. Once again we must request all team members remove the batteries when not in use, and store the radios in a cool dry environment.

The County Wide February 22, 2014 was discussed. All team members are urged to attend this very important drill.

 

TEAM MEETING - OCTOBER 24

 

The October 24, 2013 VeronaWalk CERT meeting turned out to be a surprise 5th anniversary party. Cake and refreshments were served, and the team sang  a fantastic rendition of "Happy Anniversary CERT". The team member of the year was announced, it was a tie between each member, and certificates were issued.

Guests included the East Naples Fire Chief Kingman Schuldt, the CERT Coordinator from Collier County Emergency Management, and our teams good friend Mr. Greg Speers.

Our next team meeting will take place on Thursday November 21 at 7:00 P.M. in our Town Center. Radios will be issued to new members at this meeting, and any member with a radio concern, or problem should bring their radio to this meeting.

TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD

 On Tuesdayy evening, October 8, 2013 at its monthly B.O.F.C. meeting the East Naples Fire Control and Rescue District recognized the VeronaWalk CERT team and awarded them a certificate of merit. This was in recognition of our team being named CERT Team of the Year by the Florida CERT organization at its recent conference. 

Many of our team member attended this meeting and accepted the award, and a tremendous round of applause.

SHIRIFF'S OFFICE PROVIDES TRAINING REGARDING LOST CHILDREN AND DEALING WITH ALZHEIMER'S PATIENTS

VeronaWalk’s CERT team September 26^th meeting consisted of a training session conducted by representatives of the Collier County Sheriffs Office. The team learned how we could assist Deputies in a search and rescue operation seeking lost children, and Alzheimer’s patients within our community.
