MONTHLY MEETING: JULY 22, 2010

Town Center was the location of our July Monthly Meeting. The Team was present and ready to go at 7:00 PM.

The focus of the meeting was future training such as CPR and use of Chain Saws.

We also devoted time to discuss a Tropical Storm (Bonnie) which is headed in our direction.

Our Community Emergency Response Team needs you!

Our team of volunteers constantly trains to better serve the community. CERT serves VeronaWalk in time of disaster, and in emergency situations. We are trained in triage, first aid, search and rescue and more. This team, made up of your neighbors makes a difference. We’re ready to serve the community when the professionals cannot reach you. After a hurricane, or natural disaster 911 as you know it may not function for up to 72 hours. CERT will be there to help when the professionals cant. Join our team, serve your community and help make a difference.

MONTHLY MEETING

Our next meeting will be held on July 22nd at 7:00 P.M. in our Town Center.

Please take a minute and look through your CERT pack and try to think about what additional equipment you would like to have. Remember were in hurricane season now, have bottled water, medications you may need and extra food on hand that doesn't require cooking, flashlights, or lanterns and extra batteries. Nothing is more important then our team members safety. After a hurricane, once local officials give the "All Clear" be certain your family and home are safe first, then join the team at the Town Center, or if it's not assessable our alternate location, the Tennis Pavilion.

All team members please check your email frequently. Training for Cooling Tower shut down will be announced shortly.

Our next meeting date will be announced via email, and on the Post Office bulletin board as always.

MONTHLY MEETING: JUNE 24, 2010

On June 24^Th our team met in the Town Center and received a refresher in bandaging to include the numerous uses of triangular bandages.

The hurricane season, and plans for upcoming training and equipment needs were discussed.

We also introduced three new team members. Welcome Noemi, Eileen and Anthony
